Perfect for a snowy day - and perfect if you love sandwiches. Who doesn’t love sandwiches?!
CROCK - POT JUICY APPLE CHICKEN SANDWICHES
1 Honeycrisp apple, peeled and sliced - the superior apple in my opinion
1 large sweet onion, sliced - don’t cry
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts - get the big ones full of hormones and antibiotics
1 teaspoon salt - I’m so thirsty
1 teaspoon pepper - ahhh chooo
1 teaspoon paprika - just cause
2 teaspoons dry mustard - gross
12 oz. bottle of hard apple cider - hiccup
12-16 slices of thick sourdough bread - toasted like your weird uncle
2 cups shredded sharp white cheddar cheese - careful it's sharp
Dump the onion and apple slices on the bottom of your crock.
Place the chicken breasts on top of the apples and onions, top with the salt, pepper, paprika, and mustard. Pour the hard cider over the top. Glug glug.
Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.
Remove the chicken from the crock shred the hell out of it and dump it back in to soak up the juices.
Toss the bejesus out of it.
Put the mixture between the slices of your toasted bread - add a little shredded cheese in it. Lean forward cause it's juicy. Don't wanna ruin your pants suit.
Wipe face with napkin.
